The Killdeer

The nest belongs to a killdeer, one of the plover birds. It's shrieking calls remind you of it's name. The babies are the cutest ... little puffs of spotted feathers and all legs ready to run after hatching. Our kind neighbors who are hosting this nest are giving it wide berth, the killdeer insisted!
