Early bird ...

... gets the crabs? An early crabber was out setting pots last weekend in the bit of warm-up that we had. There is a man amongst that pile of pots, you will have to look close. Not sure how his pots have faired with the terrible winds of the past two days.

Snowy morning finch

This tiny goldfinch is perched on a snowy live oak. We awoke to a blanket of snow across the area this morning. The birds were busy eating seeds offered and I watched some take bites of the snow from the leaves.

Blues Rising

A small flock of bluebills paddle and flap and lift themselves into the air. The disturbance left on the water shows the energy the ducks use to take flight.
